And they\r\nsaid, Of Haran are we.\r\n\r\n29:5 And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they\r\nsaid, We know him.\r\n\r\n29:6 And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well:\r\nand, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.\r\n\r\n29:7 And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the\r\ncattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and\r\nfeed them.\r\n\r\n29:8 And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered\r\ntogether, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we\r\nwater the sheep.\r\n\r\n29:9 And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father’s\r\nsheep; for she kept them.\r\n\r\n29:10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban\r\nhis mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother,\r\nthat Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and\r\nwatered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.\r\n\r\n29:11 And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.\r\n\r\n29:12 And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father’s brother, and that\r\nhe was Rebekah’s son: and she ran and told her father.\r\n\r\n29:13 And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his\r\nsister’s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed\r\nhim, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.\r\n\r\n29:14 And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And\r\nhe abode with him the space of a month.\r\n\r\n29:15 And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother,\r\nshouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy\r\nwages be? 29:16 And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder\r\nwas Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.\r\n\r\n29:17 Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well\r\nfavoured.\r\n\r\n29:18 And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years\r\nfor Rachel thy younger daughter.\r\n\r\n29:19 And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that\r\nI should give her to another man: abide with me.\r\n\r\n29:20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto\r\nhim but a few days, for the love he had to her.\r\n\r\n29:21 And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are\r\nfulfilled, that I may go in unto her.\r\n\r\n29:22 And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a\r\nfeast.\r\n\r\n29:23 And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his\r\ndaughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her.\r\n\r\n29:24 And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an\r\nhandmaid.\r\n\r\n29:25 And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah:\r\nand he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I\r\nserve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?\r\n29:26 And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give\r\nthe younger before the firstborn.\r\n\r\n29:27 Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service\r\nwhich thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.\r\n\r\n29:28 And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel\r\nhis daughter to wife also.\r\n\r\n29:29 And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be\r\nher maid.\r\n\r\n29:30 And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more\r\nthan Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.\r\n\r\n29:31 And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb:\r\nbut Rachel was barren.\r\n\r","title":"Chunk 1"},"relationships":[{"peer":"01KG2TYPAY0AV3P3VXDR7PMDWS","peer_label":"Genesis 29","peer_type":"chapter","predicate":"in"},{"peer":"01KG2T4RGFNHVF08APV5NRS5AD","peer_label":"kjv.txt","peer_type":"file","predicate":"extractedFrom"},{"peer":"01KG2T49K0H5GDRB0G4YDTPG8H","peer_label":"Test Collection","peer_type":"collection","predicate":"collection"},{"peer":"01KG2V4BTAAGFNCS16TKZE2X75","peer_label":"Chunk 2","peer_type":"chunk","predicate":"next"}],"ver":2,"created_at":"2026-01-28T17:41:30.026Z","ts":"2026-01-28T17:41:34.246Z","edited_by":{"method":"manual","user_id":"01KFF0H3YRP9ZSM033AM0QJ47H"}}
