Joseph, being seventeen years\r\nold, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the\r\nsons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and\r\nJoseph brought unto his father their evil report.\r\n\r\n37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he\r\nwas the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.\r\n\r\n37:4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than\r\nall his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto\r\nhim.\r\n\r\n37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they\r\nhated him yet the more.\r\n\r\n37:6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have\r\ndreamed: 37:7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and,\r\nlo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves\r\nstood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.\r\n\r\n37:8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or\r\nshalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the\r\nmore for his dreams, and for his words.\r\n\r\n37:9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and\r\nsaid, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and\r\nthe moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.\r\n\r\n37:10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his\r\nfather rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou\r\nhast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to\r\nbow down ourselves to thee to the earth? 37:11 And his brethren\r\nenvied him; but his father observed the saying.\r\n\r\n37:12 And his brethren went to feed their father’s flock in Shechem.\r\n\r\n37:13 And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the flock\r\nin Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him,\r\nHere am I.\r\n\r\n37:14 And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with\r\nthy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he\r\nsent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.\r\n\r\n37:15 And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in\r\nthe field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou? 37:16\r\nAnd he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed\r\ntheir flocks.\r\n\r\n37:17 And the man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say,\r\nLet us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found\r\nthem in Dothan.\r\n\r\n37:18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto\r\nthem, they conspired against him to slay him.\r\n\r\n37:19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.\r\n\r\n37:20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some\r\npit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall\r\nsee what will become of his dreams.\r\n\r\n37:21 And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands;\r\nand said, Let us not kill him.\r\n\r\n37:22 And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this\r\npit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might\r\nrid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.\r\n\r\n37:23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren,\r\nthat they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that\r\nwas on him; 37:24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the\r\npit was empty, there was no water in it.\r\n\r\n37:25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes\r\nand looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead\r\nwith their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry\r\nit down to Egypt.\r\n\r","title":"Chunk 1"},"relationships":[{"peer":"01KG2TYPBFSXSAC6Y8XNQCJ7W0","peer_label":"Genesis 37","peer_type":"chapter","predicate":"in"},{"peer":"01KG2T4RGFNHVF08APV5NRS5AD","peer_label":"kjv.txt","peer_type":"file","predicate":"extractedFrom"},{"peer":"01KG2T49K0H5GDRB0G4YDTPG8H","peer_label":"Test Collection","peer_type":"collection","predicate":"collection"},{"peer":"01KG2V4BVP1BQ3GJ6ZYV0BJHKZ","peer_label":"Chunk 2","peer_type":"chunk","predicate":"next"}],"ver":2,"created_at":"2026-01-28T17:41:29.759Z","ts":"2026-01-28T17:41:33.458Z","edited_by":{"method":"manual","user_id":"01KFF0H3YRP9ZSM033AM0QJ47H"}}
