And\r\nthey said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and also\r\nour fathers.\r\n\r\n47:4 They said morever unto Pharaoh, For to sojourn in the land are we\r\ncome; for thy servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the\r\nfamine is sore in the land of Canaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let\r\nthy servants dwell in the land of Goshen.\r\n\r\n47:5 And Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father and thy\r\nbrethren are come unto thee: 47:6 The land of Egypt is before thee; in\r\nthe best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the\r\nland of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity\r\namong them, then make them rulers over my cattle.\r\n\r\n47:7 And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before\r\nPharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.\r\n\r\n47:8 And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How old art thou? 47:9 And Jacob\r\nsaid unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an\r\nhundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of\r\nmy life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the\r\nlife of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.\r\n\r\n47:10 And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.\r\n\r\n47:11 And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a\r\npossession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land\r\nof Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.\r\n\r\n47:12 And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his\r\nfather’s household, with bread, according to their families.\r\n\r\n47:13 And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very\r\nsore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by\r\nreason of the famine.\r\n\r\n47:14 And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land\r\nof Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought:\r\nand Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.\r\n\r\n47:15 And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of\r\nCanaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread:\r\nfor why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth.\r\n\r\n47:16 And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your\r\ncattle, if money fail.\r\n\r\n47:17 And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them\r\nbread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle\r\nof the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all\r\ntheir cattle for that year.\r\n\r\n47:18 When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year,\r\nand said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our\r\nmoney is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not\r\nought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:\r\n47:19 Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land?\r\nbuy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants\r\nunto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that\r\nthe land be not desolate.\r\n\r\n47:20 And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the\r\nEgyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over\r\nthem: so the land became Pharaoh’s.\r\n\r\n47:21 And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of\r\nthe borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof.\r\n\r\n47:22 Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had\r\na portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which\r\nPharaoh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands.\r\n\r\n47:23 Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this\r\nday and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall\r\nsow the land.\r\n\r","title":"Chunk 1"},"relationships":[{"peer":"01KG2TYPB4SW699XC6M5MA1CVN","peer_label":"Genesis 47","peer_type":"chapter","predicate":"in"},{"peer":"01KG2T4RGFNHVF08APV5NRS5AD","peer_label":"kjv.txt","peer_type":"file","predicate":"extractedFrom"},{"peer":"01KG2T49K0H5GDRB0G4YDTPG8H","peer_label":"Test Collection","peer_type":"collection","predicate":"collection"},{"peer":"01KG2V4BV7739YMMEVEJ8QF19Y","peer_label":"Chunk 2","peer_type":"chunk","predicate":"next"}],"ver":2,"created_at":"2026-01-28T17:41:29.755Z","ts":"2026-01-28T17:41:33.250Z","edited_by":{"method":"manual","user_id":"01KFF0H3YRP9ZSM033AM0QJ47H"}}
